In this journey you will study and focus on yoga postures, form and Sanskrit, the subtle & physical anatomy of the human body, important theories and values of the Yogic path, and the history of yoga. You will learn how to become an exceptional instructor, what it takes to sequence, control and command a full room while keeping students safe and having fun. As part of the journey you will all learn to teach and speak in front of large groups. Throughout your training you will teach and take classes from other teacher training students and by the end of training you will teach your very first yoga class. Sounds scary? There are no educational requirements, however, students should have a regular yoga practice of at least six months, and a solid foundation in the basic asanas. If you do not have a regular home asana and meditation practice, begin one now. Most importantly, you must attend or have attended class at DOMA Studio.
This training is a Vinyasa based style of yoga with backgrounds in Gosh (26&2), Kundalini, Hatha, Yin and Ashtanga. It is designed to give you the tools to teach the poses, breathing techniques, and meditation effectively as well as how to sequence a class for a desired result.
Yes! You will be prepared and equipped with everything you need to teach, in fact to graduate training you will teach your very first public class!
Most yoga studios, and fitness, health and holistic centers require a minimum of 200 hours of certification. The Doma Studio TT is registered through Yoga Alliance and exceeds the requirements under the 200-hour level of programming.
This program requires focus and a dedicated commitment of time every week. This includes meeting times, home practice, practice classes, reading, and homework assignments. Please consider your availability carefully before registering.
Yes, students with injury or pregnancy can apply. Please indicate in registration. Each situation will be evaluated according to the individual’s prior yoga experience and overall health. If, however, an injury or pregnancy compromises your participation while in the training, you may choose to continue the program with a subsequent group at a future date.
Once accepted, you will be asked to select a payment method or payment plan and your first payment will be due within 7days of acceptance.
